Ah, I’m not very good at giving words of advice or comfort, but remember that this IS a hard piece to put onto the piano, and second guessing parts is just a sign of how much you care for your work. I know all too much about trying to find the perfect part when playing a song, as I’ve been trying to play a Tale of Six Trillion Years and a Night for a few years now, and I would probably be finished if I hadn’t changed and relearned so many parts. Overall, this is good because the song sounds better now (I hope), but I have come to realize that when it’s hard to decide what part to use, it’s probably because both parts are just as good. If I ask different people which part they think is better, I get different results, which reminds me that music is subjective, not objective. There can be multiple “best” parts for a song. If you can’t decide which part is better, it’s probably because both of them are equally good in different ways, so don’t feel too stressed on the decision. Finally, if you ever need some encouragement, just read through the comments on your Fluorite Eye’s Song video, they apply now just as much as ever.

Thanks I might just scroll through the comments there ahaha. But rather than encouragement, I think I'm more in need of a solution at this point. How can I stop second guessing myself? I'm only seeing "stop caring about my cover quality and just get it done" as the answer. Sounds like a bad answer to me, or is it?

Don't think you're slow. It's just many anipianists are stupidly smart and talented in sanic arranging seasonal songs. But once you accept your strength and weaknesses. Just enjoy pumping out those monthly full length arrangements. Usually takes me a month to arrange songs even tho I'm doing it for a decade. Enjoying my monthly dosage of vitamin U

Solutions, I’m better at those, although this is a hard one. It’s easy for me as a piano player to just say “both versions of the part are just as good” and choose one, but as you are making your own version, you would have had to write both parts separately and therefore have already spent more time at that point. There’s really no true “solution” to the productivity vs perfectionism issue, but here is something I hope can help: Finish first: Finish the song first, only then go back and make changes. This may help the feeling of spending a ton of time and making little progress. Spending time on making changes will probably feel better when you already have a completed piece. I wish I knew more to help you, but I am not experienced in making covers, I tried to get into it once but failed, so it’s hard for me to give valuable advice that isn’t super obvious (take breaks, be organized, etc.). I know my advice of finishing before making edits probably won’t solve all your problems, so maybe do some research into the topic of productivity vs perfectionism and see what others have done. I’m fairly sure it’s a common problem, which hopefully means people have found some solutions for it. Alright that’s all I got, I hope I could be helpful to you. Oh and of course, I’m still working on my cover of a Tale of Six trillion Years and a Night, I won’t ever give up no matter how long it takes me. Thank you once again for making your cover for me.

Umm... I've listened to the song, but it has 1 problem that turned me off to cover it : too much "talking section" Turning "talking part" into piano cover is just... uggghh... 😵‍💫😵‍💫 So sorry I'm not interested
